Face Addiction Now is a nonprofit organization that connects individuals and families impacted by substance use with no-cost programs and resources. By coordinating care and offering practical support, we help people build stability and take steps toward lasting recovery.
Face Addiction Now champions the power of compassion and respect in the recovery from substance use disorder. Through a comprehensive suite of free programs, educational initiatives, and resources, we provide a continuum of care that creates pathways to recovery and prevention. We provide clear guidance and trusted information to help individuals and families move toward stability and recovery—working to change how addiction is understood through real-life experience and practical support.

Face Addiction Now, formerly known as Families Against Narcotics (FAN), was founded in 2007 following the tragic deaths of two young individuals due to heroin in Fraser, Michigan. That year, the area experienced 30 heroin-related overdoses—each one a devastating loss that galvanized local residents into action. A group of committed individuals came together with a shared goal: to address substance use head-on and offer real solutions.
The first meeting was held at Christ United Methodist Church, where nearly 100 attendees filled the basement—families, local officials, law enforcement, and individuals personally impacted by substance use. They came to share experiences, ask difficult questions, and find direction. That meeting marked the beginning of a collaborative effort to confront addiction and develop practical ways to help others.
Today, as Face Addiction Now, we continue that work with a broader focus. Now a statewide nonprofit, we provide a wide range of services across Michigan to individuals seeking recovery, regardless of location or insurance coverage.
