PEER RECOVERY COACH

The Peer Recovery Coach provides support and mentorship to individuals seeking recovery from substance use disorder, using their own lived experience to build trust and foster a supportive, professional relationship. This role involves empowering participants to create and maintain their own recovery plan, connecting them with community resources, and providing emotional encouragement to overcome barriers to recovery.

FAMILY RECOVERY COACH
Macomb County

This individual must have lived experience as the family member of someone with substance use disorder. Combining this experience with training and supervision, coaches will guide families in responding to their loved one in a way that is healthy and supports family recovery. Verified completion of CCAR certification is required. Highly-qualified candidates may be provided CCAR training upon hire. Family Coach will be connected to and work with the families of loved ones suffering from substance use disorder. The Family Recovery Coach provides compassion, support, and resources to help families cope with specific issues, including enabling, codependency, setting healthy boundaries, and other family dynamics.

This is an independent contractor position with a flexible schedule. Hours are on an as-needed basis and not guaranteed.

HARM REDUCTION COORDINATOR (PART-TIME)

The program provides accessible harm reduction services through daily operations, including distributing syringes, naloxone kits, and other supplies, while safely collecting biohazard waste. It offers follow-up outreach for individuals recovering from nonfatal overdoses and delivers education on harm reduction laws, safer drug use, safer sex practices, and community-based STI/HIV/hepatitis prevention. Participants have access to rapid HCV/HIV testing, counseling, and referrals to essential services such as medication-assisted treatment (MAT), detox, healthcare, and housing. Community outreach efforts include training on harm reduction and overdose prevention, attending coalition meetings, and supervising volunteers. Staff maintain accurate data, meet program goals, and advocate for harm reduction through organizing and education, fostering a healthier and safer community.

The Hope Not Handcuffs Hopeline is a helpline service provided by Face Addiction Now (FAN) as a part of our Hope Not Handcuffs program. It is designed to help individuals struggling with substance use disorder (SUD) by offering immediate assistance and support while connecting individuals to treatment. FAN seeks a compassionate individual to field calls in the Call Center and assist individuals with getting placed in treatment centers and organizing their transportation.

MARKETING

FAN is looking to take on a marketing intern to support the growing needs of our organization.  We are seeking an individual who can contribute fresh ideas and create content to educate the community on SUD, the resources we offer, the work we do in the community, and our upcoming fundraisers/events. The marketing intern will provide support for our marketing team, including but not limited to completing projects related to branding, content creation, and social media marketing, designing marketing materials, and contributing to marketing campaigns to further FAN’s strategic goals.

NALOXONE PROGRAM SUPPORT

FAN is offering an opportunity to provide support to its overdose education and naloxone distribution (OEND) program, a longstanding public health strategy in response to the opioid crisis. Responsibilities of this intern will include but not be limited to preparing materials, promoting public awareness of opioid risk and overdose prevention, and improving data collection to evaluate community impact. 

COMMUNITY RESOURCE COORDINATION

FAN is seeking a Community Resource Coordination Intern to assist in the management and growth of our community resource hub, focusing on connecting individuals impacted by substance use disorder (SUD) to social resources. This is an opportunity to learn about the different resources available throughout the state of Michigan and the social determinants of health.

The resource hub is a pool of resources that peer recovery coaches, a call center, case managers, and other direct service staff use to help individuals in the community. FAN is looking for a compassionate individual dedicated to serving their community and passionate about addressing health disparities.

OUTPATIENT THERAPY

The Mindset program is looking to take on an MSW intern to support the growing needs of our department.  We currently provide individual and outpatient therapy to those struggling with SUD and co-occurring mental health disorders.  We often work alongside our other departments, such as Peer Recovery Coaches and Case Managers, while also making/maintaining strong connections with community agencies, first responders, justice departments, healthcare providers, and resources.  We are in search of an additional team member that is passionate about mental health, recovery, and becoming a part of our dedicated organization.
