PEER RECOVERY COACH

The Peer Recovery Coach provides support and mentorship to individuals seeking recovery from substance use disorder, using their own lived experience to build trust and foster a supportive, professional relationship. This role involves empowering participants to create and maintain their own recovery plan, connecting them with community resources, and providing emotional encouragement to overcome barriers to recovery.

CASE MANAGER
Macomb County

Face Addiction Now (FAN) has had a long-standing partnership and relationship with the Sterling Heights Police Department, and we are excited to announce our most recent partnership to provide case management services directly to the police department. The Case Manager will work directly with the Sterling Heights Police Department, providing support to individuals in need of behavioral health services. This role involves assessing clients, connecting them to necessary resources, and helping them achieve stability. The Case Manager will work closely with law enforcement, court systems, and social service providers, ensuring participants receive comprehensive care to avoid further involvement in the criminal justice system and reduce repeat visits from law enforcement.

The position will involve an on-call component, and the Case Manager will work with a partner Case Manager on two separate shifts. There is an opportunity to further develop these positions based on the evolving needs of the community and law enforcement.

CALL CENTER

The Hope Not Handcuffs Hopeline is a helpline service provided by Face Addiction Now (FAN) as a part of our Hope Not Handcuffs program. It is designed to help individuals struggling with substance use disorder (SUD) by offering immediate assistance and support while connecting individuals to treatment. FAN seeks a compassionate individual to field calls in the Call Center and assist individuals with getting placed in treatment centers and organizing their transportation.

MARKETING

FAN is looking to take on a marketing intern to support the growing needs of our organization.  We are seeking an individual who can contribute fresh ideas and create content to educate the community on SUD, the resources we offer, the work we do in the community, and our upcoming fundraisers/events. The marketing intern will provide support for our marketing team, including but not limited to completing projects related to branding, content creation, and social media marketing, designing marketing materials, and contributing to marketing campaigns to further FAN’s strategic goals.

NALOXONE PROGRAM SUPPORT

FAN is offering an opportunity to provide support to its overdose education and naloxone distribution (OEND) program, a longstanding public health strategy in response to the opioid crisis. Responsibilities of this intern will include but not be limited to preparing materials, promoting public awareness of opioid risk and overdose prevention, and improving data collection to evaluate community impact. 

COMMUNITY RESOURCE COORDINATION

FAN is seeking a Community Resource Coordination Intern to assist in the management and growth of our community resource hub, focusing on connecting individuals impacted by substance use disorder (SUD) to social resources. This is an opportunity to learn about the different resources available throughout the state of Michigan and the social determinants of health.

The resource hub is a pool of resources that peer recovery coaches, a call center, case managers, and other direct service staff use to help individuals in the community. FAN is looking for a compassionate individual dedicated to serving their community and passionate about addressing health disparities.

OUTPATIENT THERAPY

The Mindset program is looking to take on an MSW intern to support the growing needs of our department.  We currently provide individual and outpatient therapy to those struggling with SUD and co-occurring mental health disorders.  We often work alongside our other departments, such as Peer Recovery Coaches and Case Managers, while also making/maintaining strong connections with community agencies, first responders, justice departments, healthcare providers, and resources.  We are in search of an additional team member that is passionate about mental health, recovery, and becoming a part of our dedicated organization.
