Do you have to have insurance to participate?
No.
Does Hope Not Handcuffs help people with private insurance?
Yes.
How much will it cost?
If you have Medicaid or no insurance and your income is under $20K/year, there is no cost. If you have Medicaid or no insurance and your income is $20K/year or more, there may be a minimal costs associated with your treatment. If you have private insurance, we will check your benefits and do our best to find a facility that is affordable for you.
Should I bring my belongings to the PD?
We do our best to have same day placements. If possible, please bring 5-7 days worth of clothing hygiene products to the PD.
What can I bring to rehab?
Prescribed medications in the bottle provided by the pharmacy, toothbrush, toothpaste, disposable razors, soap, shaving cream, shampoo, conditioner, clothing & shoes.
I have a warrant. Will I be arrested?
The police departments that are participating with Hope Not Handcuffs have agreed that they will not arrest you unless you have a violent misdemeanor or a felony.
Can I bring my prescriptions?
Yes, please bring your prescribed medications in the bottles provided from the pharmacy.
