Carol Montavon Bealor serves as the Cass County Probate Court Judge and Chief Judge of the Cass County Courts. She oversees Cass County’s Family Treatment Court, which provides court-supervised support for parents facing challenges related to substance use. The program works to strengthen families by coordinating services through a team-based approach involving multiple local agencies. Parents receive structured guidance, skills training, and oversight as they work toward stability and provide a safe home environment for their children.
Before joining the bench, Judge Bealor operated her own law practice and served on several of Cass County’s problem-solving court teams, including the Family Treatment Court. Through that work, she developed deep knowledge of addiction-related issues and practices aimed at improving outcomes for families and public safety. Her professional background also includes work as a mediator, assistant prosecutor, public defender, insurance defense attorney, and legal aid attorney.
Judge Bealor earned her Juris Doctor from Valparaiso University School of Law (Magna Cum Laude) and her Bachelor of Arts in Government and International Studies from the University of Notre Dame. Her personal experiences with addiction in her own family have strengthened her commitment to helping the courts respond effectively to substance use challenges.
