
Laura Mack recently retired as District Judge for the 29th District Court in Wayne, where she served as Chief Judge for 16 years. She currently serves as a director for the Michigan Association of Treatment Court Professionals and the Northwest Wayne County chapter of Face Addiction Now. She is also president of the Rotary Club of Wayne.
Judge Mack participates in several statewide committees and workgroups related to court system improvements, including the State Court Administrative Office Advisory Committee and the Governor’s Incompetent to Stand Trial Workgroup. She also sits on the Wayne County Jail Committee focused on improving coordination across systems.
Judge Mack continues to co-preside, alongside Judge Breeda O’Leary, over the Western Wayne County Regional Behavioral Treatment Court (RBTC), which began in 2013 and expanded in 2015 to include 11 district courts throughout Wayne County. During her time at the 29th District Court, she also helped launch several community-based programs, including teen court, school attendance initiatives, housing-related support efforts, and internships designed to promote cross-sector collaboration.
In 2017, she received a Women in the Law award from Michigan Lawyers Weekly in recognition of her leadership and contributions to public-facing court programs. Prior to her judicial appointment in 2003, she practiced law in tax, estate, and retirement planning at Seyburn Kahn, P.C. in Southfield.
