Judge Victoria Shackelford

Victoria I. Shackelford is the Chief Judge of the 23rd District Court in the City of Taylor, where she also presides over the court’s Sobriety Court program. Before taking the bench in 2021, she served as an assistant prosecutor in Wayne County, working in both the arson and homicide units. Earlier in her career, she practiced criminal defense in private practice.

Prior to joining the prosecutor’s office, Judge Shackelford was involved in the development of the 33rd District Court Sobriety Court, collaborating with judges, court administrators, probation officers, and program coordinators to support individuals navigating court-ordered accountability measures.

She serves on the boards of FAIR Michigan and the Assessor’s Board of Review for the City of Taylor. Judge Shackelford is a graduate of Eastern Michigan University and the University of Toledo College of Law.
