Growing up with seven siblings molded Tamie into the compassionate leader she is today. She has been a part of the Shiawassee County Sheriff’s Office for nearly 20 years, beginning in 2000 when she joined the office as a correction officer. She continued to climb the ladder to Shift Sergeant in 2006, Assistant Jail Administrator in 2007, and Jail Administrator/Lieutenant in 2014. Tamie is an advocate for substance abuse, is a member of the Shiawassee County Drug Court, and has experience working with incarcerated individuals with substance addictions. In 2008, Tamie lost her youngest brother to substance abuse. His death affected the family in the blink of an eye, and has also made Tamie more determined--both professionally and personally--to take a stand and help abusers find help and gain access to treatment.
