Penny Corbin

Penny holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration, with a focus on management and public relations. She is currently employed at Shiawassee Health and Wellness as a Public Relations and Prevention Specialist. Prior to county government, Penny was employed in state government for several years, promoting public health and food safety. A certified Youth Mental Health First Aid instructor, she provides mental health awareness training to community members and school personnel. Penny serves on multiple state and local boards, including the Community Mental Health Association of Michigan, Public Relations Workgroup, and the Michigan Association for Suicide Prevention, where she is currently the President. Locally, Penny serves on the Voices for Children board and is Chair of the Shiawassee Prevention Network, which addresses local social issues such as suicide prevention, substance misuse and abuse, domestic violence and sexual assault, and human trafficking. Penny believes prevention works and is dedicated to educating and promoting drug awareness to create healthy outcomes in our community.
