Mike is a graduate of Lake Superior State University, where he majored in criminal justice.  He started his career with the City of Owosso Police Department 15 years ago, and is an active member with the Shiawassee Prevention Network, Shiawassee County Drug Court, Shiawassee County Mental Health Court, and Shiawassee County Human Trafficking Task Force. He is also the taser and MILO Range (training simulator) trainer for the Owosso Police Department.  A certified ALICE (active shooter) instructor and Child Passenger Safety Technician, Mike has been the Community Policing Officer since 2013. Having seen firsthand what the opioid crisis has done to Shiawassee County and how it’s ruined families, he wants to assist in making the public aware of what resources are available to people/families in crisis.
